Thanks to TheLimey, I've just learn that my password was "iforgot"

I'm just writing that post to show that I'm not an hypocrite as a lot of you think of me.

I may be stupid to not have been able to connect for 1 year and a half...
But I'm surely not an hypocrite.

I think we need to find some ground rules to avoid anymore conflicts between our clans.

I'm not the most diplomatic person (as my clanmate knows) and it seems my post on NZAUS was misunderstood and my fast explanations over the chat did not help a lot.

Just to be clear, that post was ONLY about a frustration of not being able to connect on your forums. May be the post was not polite enough or you found it offensive to your clan...

The basic rule now will be to avoid mentionning your clan in any discussion. Forums are impersonal...and misused words or sayings get out of proportion real quick...

This doesn't make us any more friends, but at least it avoids big drama and bad advertising for both of our clans.

Your account has never been inactive.  If you had forgotten your password you should have just clicked the "I forgot my password" link on the log in screen.

A second account was never validated for you because we don't allow people to have two active accounts.  Your original account was never inactive so a second account was not allowed.   This mistake was on your part.

I think Nicou came here with good intentions, so I would say let's leave it there and try not to start it all over again.  

Fox is correct.  Of course there are some issues that Nicou will be asked to speak to.  He is allowing some pretty questionable things to go on in his forums.

We only ever had two things against you:

#1. You went around saying we didn't allow you on our forums, when the fact of the matter was you always had an account, and just forgot your password (apparently?), and refused to use the "I forgot my password" link on the login screen.  When your password was reset for you, you still didn't use it.  This was your fault, not ours.

#2 You went around saying crap about our clan, and encouraging/facilitating others to do the same.  We don't like that, and we don't like people who do it.  But show me a clan who does.  If you went around talking crap about EsF, or LsD, or BAT, they wouldn't be very happy with you either.

THAT'S IT.  THERE'S NOTHING ELSE.

As far as I'm aware, we never did anything to you.  We never banned you.  You don't see any posts here on our forums or elsewhere of us badmouthing you or your clan.

We appreciate your finally putting a stop to the talk about our clan on your forums.  But beyond that, if you don't think you did anything wrong to us, and don't want to make peace, then I guess we have nothing to talk about.  If on the other hand you want to make things right between us and you personally, then you can start to try and do that in the traditional way.

I understand...but it's part of this new agreement...we dont want to have topics that get out of proportions and make bad reputation for us or anyone else. However I should agree with the fact that we've made the mistake of letting those discussion in place and not deleted right away...

Now that I'm able to connect, it seems like right. By the time I was saying you didnt allow me on your forums, it's because I thought you didnt want me on your forums. It seems I misjudged your intentions.

Yeah, it's true...I wouldnt be happy either to see some bad stuff about SniR...I think the anger of not being able to connect on your forums and bad stuff the others were writing encouraged me to open my big mouth.

Anyway, I think we need to take a fresh start and forget about those silly mistakes I made. I dont want to put shadow on my clan nor yours.

I appreciate Nicou's sentiments but saying "oops, my bad" does not change much.  SniR saying that they have deleted threads that are attacks against other clans is a step, not a solution.  It does not address the actual problem.

The problem is that there are people who feel themselves justified in making libelous attacks against the |GotS| clan.  These attacks have largely gone unchecked.  Whenever the |GotS| or anyone else speak out against these attacks the thread gets deleted.  This happens on multiple forums.

The people who are making these attacks tell one side of the story and in many cases are flat out lying because their feelings are hurt and they want sympathy.  Many of the people who have and continue to make these attacks are members of the SniR clan.  This must be addressed.  It cannot be sufficient to say "We shouldn't have done that, we've deleted those threads and won't post anymore."  It doesn't even begin to change the mindset of the people who flame us.

I don't care if those people don't like us.  I do care that they make up lies and get to wander around garnering sympathy unchecked.  Since Nicou was one of those people and has several of those people in his clan he is in a position to make a difference in our two clans (and the communities) relationships.

Public denouncement of those statements and more importantly of the type of thinking that lead to them is necessary to change things.  The people who hate us probably always will and they will always harbor it deep down inside.  If the community looks down on them for their astoundingly biased viewpoints and the expression of them THEN and only then will sentiments begin to change and relationships begin to repair.

I anxiously await Nicou's thoughts and ideas on this topic.

Well said, you get out the point in the right way. As we know many of them are in your clan Nicou and you as an embassador from your clan here we do like to see what are you going to do.

That's also true. I don't really know the exact problems you had with them in the past (angie or owtcast)...and I dont want to know...it's your business.

If one of your clan members is angry and speaks out in public that reflects on your whole clan.  People see the tags in front of the name before AND after they see the name of the person talking.  Whatever one of your clan mates does reflects on the entire clan.  This is the way it works.  A clan is responsible and should be held accountable for the words and deeds of EACH of its members.

As a clan leader you are REQUIRED to be a magician.  That's the nature of the business.  If you sweep problems under the rug and say "I can't do anything about what _____ does." the problems fester and then everything comes apart.

I am expected to be a magician as is Weasel in every situation.  We have to make the improbable come true.  That's what a clan leader does.  Time to fish or cut bait.

I not just agree with the way people look at any clan for one or two members they look at any clan as a whole, and I going to disagree on pink on the part of being a magician. a magician will  create a illusion and will deceive your eyes from the truth. just like a facade will hide the true from the sham.


honesty on what you represent as a person and as a clan is the best option, pink and weasel dont just take decisions and show the facade of being such a leadership.... they have show true leadership.

what Im trying to said is that they as leaders also relies on the rest of the clan.... we talk not just as individuals or clan mates we talk as friends... friends that represent what our ideas and beliefs are withing the clan. that is what makes a leader, a leader represent a group of people in their beliefs.... unless you have a clan base in coercion. then well you are require to be a magician

Pinata is exactly correct.  What my intention was when saying that clan leaders are required to be magicians was to say that a clan leader cannot say "I can't control what my clan mates do."  He must say, "I will bring this issue to my clan mates and we will discuss it."  A clan leader cannot just throw up his hands and say, "I can do nothing." he HAS to do something.  If he is not inclined to then he is failing his clan as a leader.  The leader always has the most difficult road in front of him, the easy road is never the best option.

Saying, "I can't do anything about how my clan mates act." is taking the easy road.

I think that's a cop out.  Part of "working things out" is getting people to not have animosity; which means working to change opinions, especially when those opinions are unjustified.

Well I'm going to tell you our problem with Angie, because this illustrates the entire point we're trying to make here.  Angie came on to your forums and introduced herself by saying something like "You're going to really like me because I hate |GotS|"

At that point in time, WE DIDN'T EVEN KNOW WHO ANGIE WAS!  We hadn't seen her, met her, wronged her, or anything else.  All we knew about her, was she showed up on your forum and said that stuff.  Safe to say, she didn't know us either.  She still doesn't.  But apparently she hates us anyway.

And someone would not come onto your forum and introduce themselves that way, unless they knew they were on fertile ground for that kind of talk.

That's the entirety of the extent of our problem with Angie.  Out of nowhere, this person we don't even know, starts talking crap about us.  Ridiculous.

That's part of the problem:  A few people out there are so obsessed with us and hold such grudges against us that they go around talking crap about us all the time.  And they've done it so much, other people who don't even know us think it's cool to join in.  I know one person that we haven't even had any contact with for a year and a half, and is still talking crap about us because we banned him 18 months ago.  Some people just can't get over things.

I wouldn't count on this, unfortunately.  We've taken a lot of crap from a few people for quite some time, and just let people run their mouths uncontested.  But it seems to me, from recent events, that the forbearance of my clanmates has been exhausted, and they're no longer willing to just sit and take it.  These people have taught us that what letting them have their way does just encourages it.

If someone doesn't like us, that's fine.  But going around talking crap about another clan is something else.  And the people who make up lies to support their slander are even worse.

As for the rest, I appreciate your sentiments, but actions speak louder than words.

Threads are never usually deleted or locked on here WITHOUT very good reason ... FACT .

Yes we do know of Angie , she frequented the server on the odd occassion prior to her joining the SniR forums/clan and her exact problem is she has a smart mouth in which she had no trouble exercising to Mr Pink  , so she found herself removed from the server and we havent seen or heard of her since until she turned up on SniRs forums with her lovely introduction .

It was indeed Red Fox who then pointed out the introduction thread of hers some time back as he joined the forums and I joined after .



Which brings me to another point , throughout these various encounters it seems to be Weasel and Pink that are invariably singled out as the big bad wolves of this clan and who people seem to direct their hate and animosity towards a lot of the time claiming they dont have and problems with the other clan members .........

To those people I say this ............ And do so knowing the rest of |GotS| feel exactly the same .
You cannot simply claim to hate or have a problem with one or two members of this clan . If you have a problem with one of us , you have a problem with ALL of us .

The thread you refer to is locked for the reasons explained in ANOTHER CONVERSATION!  Please keep your off topic comments to yourself or create another thread.  Or better yet!  Put them in an already existing thread that they are related to.

p.s. Public Forums does not equate to carte blanche.  We have rules of usage.

That's a load of crap, Ben.

What you have never seen on these forums is |GotS| attacking and badmouthing another clan.  And you have certainly never seen us attack another clan, then that clan shows up to defend itself, and then the thread is locked or deleted.

That doesn't happen here.  We don't attack other clans, and we don't allow other to use our forums to do that either.

The vast majority of threads that get locked on these forums are either:
1. Discussion that violate forum rules, like piracy or pornography.
2. Arguments/fights between individuals where the participants can not see reason, where there is no chance for reconciliation, and when the situation is spiraling past the point of no return.

(Of course, all threads eventually get closed due to old age.)

We don't claim to be perfect moderators; sometimes we make mistakes.  And we don't much care if you like the way we run our forums.  What we do make clear to all new forum members is that these are OUR forums, which we have made publicly readable, and that they are a place where our clan members can interact with our friends, the people we play with, and the rest of the community.

This is our home.  And every non-GotS member here is a guest in it.  Everyone who behaves well and treats others with civility is welcome.  We like meeting other SE players and interacting with the rest of the community.  

But it is not a public soapbox where other people can come and just act however they please.  

I don't see anything about that that's difficult to understand, or is fundamentally different from any other clan.

Ok guys...

we came to a simple solution :

Never talk about other clan in a bad way (even for annoying stuff). In that way, we will avoid any conflicts with other clan.

So, you're all welcome in our servers (Limey often visit us)...and if we see your game, we will play with you too !

Please tell me if you see some stuff that irritates you on our forums \ other forums...and I'll make things right.

This statement is true for any clan.
